To: Betty and the Woolfrey family, Please accept our sincere condolences on Don's passing. Lewisporte has lost a "true gentleman" who was a true friend to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Don could always be depended upon to provide a helpful hand regardless of the task. His word could always be relied upon and his sense of humor was only exceeded by his resourcefulness and generosity. It will be difficult to drive up Main street without seeing Don out an about on his property either repairing his equipment or trying to outdo last years vegetable crop. Rest in peace Don, you will be missed my friend! Brian and Patricia Oldford

My heartfelt condolences to the Woolfrey family. Don was a very close and trusted childhood friend. I remember the many things we did together growing up in Lewisporte such as playing trucks and tractors in the field, playing hockey together, riding our bikes and going to movies. I also fondly remember the times we would cut wood and sell it to Don's Uncle, and how we would have shows and plays in my father's garage. And I cannot forget the time we made ice cream together for a bunch of people but the two of us ate it all instead. We had a major case of "head" freeze at that time. We had a lot of fun in Cubs, Scouts and Air Cadets as well. Although it had been a long time since I last saw or spoke to Don, I still remember our childhood times together as very special. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss. Roy Budden

Words cannot express our sadness in the passing of our uncle, but we can express what a great person he was. Our memories of Uncle Don will be ones of seeing a smile on his face and the feeling of overwhelming welcoming everytime we showed up in Lewisporte. It had become a routine for us to come to Lewisporte every summer to spend time with our family in Exploits. A big highlight of our trip was always to drop by and see Aunt Betty and Uncle Don. A year is a long time , but, so much can be packed into a welcoming and joyful reunion and that is what it was for us during such visits with Don and Betty. We will miss these visits with Don but the memories can never be erased. We will always have these and that is what is important , is it not? Why these things happen is beyond our comprehension but in Don's case maybe it is because there is a bigger moose on the other side. We love you uncle Don... Karen and Mike

To Yvonne, Maxine, Roslyn and Ivan and families; It was with sadness that I heard of Don's passing. I cannot count how many hours I sat at the piano in his mother's home while family, friends, visitors etc. passed through. I could always tell when Don was near. You'd hear his voice and then very soon after - someone laughing from the belly. Beth and Walter were such amazing people who each played a part in shaping and enriching my life. Their honest friendship, laughter and love of a story was passed well to all of their children and Don especially. May you draw strength from each other at this time. I know when thoughts drift back to Don in the future they will bring a smile and a deep sense of care. What a better legacy could someone leave their family and friends then a smile and a story. Thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

I was so sorry to hear of Don's passing Betty. Its hard to believe how many years have passed and how fast they go. In my early years my fond memories are of you as a teacher and Don's as my music teacher's son. Even at that time the warmth and sincerity that you both showed all around you was recognized. Chances to talk have become less as years went by but I will always remember every time I met Don there was a story, some memory of his mother and some reason to have a laugh or funny story. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. Know also that when I think of Don it will always be with a smile. Hold strong to family and support each other. The sadness will eventually turn to fond memory held in a warm corner of your heart.
