Obituary of Wayne Gilbert Jenkins

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wayne Gilbert Jenkins announce his passing on June 17, 2019 at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, at the age of 68 years.

Wayne was born in Lewisporte on April 23, 1951, and the son of the late Lewis & Ruth Jenkins.  He will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters:  Ross (Thelma), Vera Dawson, Don (Jocelyn), Melvin (Marilyn), Sandra (Albert) Hillier, Pleaman (Trudy), Viola (Louis) Barnes, Thelma (Keith) Burt, Ruby (Paul) Efford, Marilyn Jenkins, Rodney (Darlene), Ivan (Christine), Scott (Muriel), Tammy (Morley) Hart;  Special Caregivers:  April Hodder, Pauline Budden and the late Bessy Pope; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Resting at Families Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive, in Lewisporte; with visitation to take place on Thursday, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.  Funeral service will take place on Friday, at 11 am, at Philadelphia Pentecostal Tabernacle, with Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Lewisporte, NL.

Flowers accepted, or donations may be made in his memory to the Calypso Foundation, where he was one of the first students at the Calypso Foundation.
