To Glennis, Darryl and Natalie and spouses and extended family:
You are on our hearts and minds at this time, knowing how faithful you were while my husband and I were pa storing at Peel Pentecostal church in Brampton, Ontario. We have enjoyed visits in your home and remember the good times our sons had playing together. It will be a huge change and transition for all of you. I know and understand full well. There is a Glad Reunion day coming and they are free of pain and suffering, but we are still here and we face challenges and realities every day. Can be pretty tough at times, but we learn to lean hard on Jesus. I believe He is coming very soon to catch His Bride and church away.
Until then we keep on letting our light shine for other's who too need to be ready.

Glennis, Darryl & Natalie;
We have been feeling the sadness of Ed's passing over the past days and are still in shock with his sudden illness and passing. The past days have also been a time of reminiscing about special memories and events we shared together. We will always remember his many stories that he shared from his youth with a greasy smirk as he told them. At a certain point Glennis would smile and say "He was bad before he met me". There are memories of camping trips, yarns around late night camp fire and salt beef dinners cooked on a Coleman stove (even in the pouring rain). We were never to worry about going hungry when Ed was in our presence. We'll also remember the many card games together, how he justified that one could always look at the bottom card and how 'creative' he would become to win a game. Always a great partner, always a terrible opponent. He tried to teach Paul how to play cribbage to no avail and was always looking out for a descent set of golf clubs for him in hopes that he would take up the sport. We could go on with sharing the memories we've made but be assured that we will always hold dear the memories that we had the privilege of making. We are so glad we were able to spend time with the family and Ed last week. We're constantly raising the family in our prayers and be assured we're here for anything you need. We're missing our friend but are appreciative that our lives crossed paths on our journeys.

We still can’t somehow believe that Ed has passed away. We always enjoyed our times with you both. He always loved to tell the story with, “what happened was.......” and he would go into the real story. Well, I seem to think he would now say, “what happened was I have now entered into the eternal life and will be forever with the Lord, just ahead of you all, waiting for that great reunion that we seriously believed in”. So, keep listening for and looking for the return of Jesus as He promised.
Glennis, you will get through, one day at a time, knowing that the Comforter is always there with you. When you see Jesus, your questions will not need an answer.
We are praying for the strength of God to be your portion. We wish we could be there in person to join with all those who are giving you more support.

To: Glennis, Darryl, Crystal and Tucker and to Natalie and Abigail,
We were so saddened to hear of Ed’ passing. Ed was a part of our extended family for 16 years. We well remember the visits and family get togethers we would have at our home in Botwood and in later years in Calgary.
Ed was certainly a conversationalist. We would embark on topics ranging from family to spirituality, from hunting, fishing and golf. Ed absolutely loved the game of golf and from what I understand he was pretty good at it. I only had the opportunity to play a few rounds with him and for what it’s worth, I was impressed.
Just imagine. I would like for the family, for just a moment to imagine the reunion that is taking place in the heavenly realms right now. Just imagine Pastors Harvey and Winnie Tucker, Quincy Sheppard and others that I know the family can include, that are already basking in the presence of their Lord in heaven.
Just imagine them scanning that glorious horizon and seeing a familiar figure, a familiar posture and as it draws nearer, a familiar face. Just imagine hearing them shout with excitement, “ it’s our Ed. He’s finally home .
Someone has said that, “ God looks upon the death of his saints as an event of peculiar interest. Psalms 116: 15 states that. “ precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
What a glorious hope we have in Christ Jesus. That, whether by death or the rapture , that reunion will continue. We will see Ed again.
Rest assured of our thoughts and prayers in the coming days and weeks. Just remember that, “ just when you need Him, He’ll give you just what you need.

Glennis, Darryl, Crystal, Natalie, Tucker, and Abigail. Today, you must be experiencing a myriad of memories as you lay your loved one to rest. Edward Barnes - a man who was a friend to everyone. I met him for the first time on September 7, 1998. I need ed a ride from the airport, and who came to my rescue? Yes, Edward Barnes. He was still a faithful friend to the end. Who bought my last Tim Horton's coffee? Yes, Edward Barnes. He will be missed by you and your wide circle of family and friends. However, we know that there is another meeting place somewhere in heaven, and your loved one was destined for that place. He has arrived and enjoying the celestial glory of the risen Saviour.
