Obituary of Wilbertha Marion Perry
Please share a memory of Wilbertha to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilbertha Marion Perry (nee Smith) announce her peaceful passing on Monday, June 14 at the age of 79 years...just 1 month short of her 80th birthday.
Bertha was born on July 14, 1941 in Deer Lake to William and Nina Smith. She taught school for a number of years before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Hardy. Together they spent over 50 years in active Pastoral ministry in various communities across Newfoundland and Labrador. Although not a credential holder herself, she served as a vital part of Hardy's ministry throughout those years.
Having dedicated their lives to serving others so passionately, their greatest passion, however, was for their family. Together they poured selflessly into raising their two children with God as the center of their home. Over time, their love grew as their family extended to include two more children through marriage & then the greatest joy of their lives: their grandchildren.
Bertha was loved by everyone who knew her. Her love for Jesus spilled over into the lives of countless people during her time here on earth. Her loss is felt keenly; her footprint is left deep in our hearts.
Leaving to mourn the loss of her beautiful life, her husband of 56 years Pastor Hardy Perry, son Paul (Brenda), daughter Stephanie (Steve Jenkins), grandchildren: Victoria (Josh Reid), Lucas (Olivia), and Andrew Jenkins, as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was pre-deceased by her precious granddaughter Olivia and many other special family members.
