Obituary of Lloyd Harris

Lloyd Harris, passed peacefully away on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 at his home in Clarenville at the age of 89 years. Lloyd was born in Port Blandford the son of the late Jack and Susie Harris. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary; infant son Lloyd, son Wayne; sister Dulcie(Leo), and brother Ed. Leaving to cherish his memory are his sister Fannie(Bob); sister-in-law Berith; children Ruth (Gene), and Daughter-in-law (Ivy); his grandchildren Glory (Bruno), Lloyd (Nicole), Danielle (Marc), Dustin (Tasha); great grandchildren Nicholas, Jayden, Renée, Hannah, Mackenzie, and Jaxson; a large circle of nieces and nephews; and wealths of cherished friends. Lloyd spent his life appreciating and enjoying nature and the outdoors, which was evident in his over 30 years spent working as a federal park warden. He spent many years fishing on the Terra Nova river, camping, berry picking, and enjoyed sharing these experiences with his family. He was well known as a quiet, content person who loved being surrounded by friends and family, and loved to tell his funny stories, often being the one who laughed the hardest at each one. His love of laughter, and the twinkle in his eye when telling a joke will live on in us forever. In Keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service will take place at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte on Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 at 11:00 am by invitation only . Interment to follow at St. Matthew’s United Cemetery in Lewisporte. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the United Church Cemetery Fund. Lives are like rivers: eventually they go where they must. Not where we want them to.
