We were so sad to initially hear of Don's lung cancer diagnosis. Then to learn of the spread to his liver. Not a good situation for any one. Then the sudden stroke...who could have expected such a thing. Maybe the good Lord intervened and spared Don from the cancer treatments and ultimate pain. Maybe God saw that he was tired and in a weakened state. Who knows. I believe that Don is now free of pain and worry. I believe he is cheering us on from above and watching over us as we go on living in this world.
Don was a really fine brother-in-law. Always a ready smile, sense of humor, and upbeat personality. Oh yes, he went through some difficult times over his lifetime but he came up for air and led a good and productive life.
He loved his wife, his children and grandchildren.
Sadness has filled our hearts the past few days and we pray God's strength on Barb, Christopher and Leeann. Sorry we can not be with you at this time but please know you are in our hearts and prayers.
Take one day at a time and one step at a time and keep Don's memory in your hearts forever.
Love, Bonnie and Don Donaghey
