Please share a memory of Millicent to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Millicent Sheppard passed away peacefully at North Haven Manor on November 12, 2022 at 95 years young. She was predeceased by her husband Cyril.
She is survived by their four children, Bernard (Gloria), Byron (Patricia), Phyllis (Tom Tokarchuk) and Dean (Denise) along with eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Millicent grew up on Indian Islands where she met her husband, Cyril. They married in 1947 and moved to Deer Lake before finally settling in Corner Brook.
Millicent was a long-time member of the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Corner Brook, Newfoundland where she was a member of the choir for many years and was an active member of the Anglian Women’s Auxiliary.
Millicent was also a member of the Corner Brook Community Choir for many years. She loved singing and taking part in the many concerts performed by the choir.
In her younger years she was also a member of the Corner Brook Lioness Club. She won awards for her delicious lemon meringue pies!
She loved her home in Corner Brook, her wonderful neighbours, planting her flowers in the spring and entertaining friends and family.
Millicent loved to host her choir friends for afternoon tea, setting a pretty table with her best China, her choir friends were a very important part of her life. She also loved to host dinner parties.
It didn’t take much to get her into a fit of laughter, all of a sudden, she would start laughing and give you a slap on the arm while we all sat in wonderment. We had to wait until her laughing fit finished before we got to find out what was so funny.
Mom loved when any of the family came to visit; her family was everything to her. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Special thanks to the staff at Pleasantview Manor in Lewisporte for the care and compassion provided over the three-year period Millicent was a resident and also to North Haven Manor in Lewisporte during her short stay.
