Obituary of James Josiah Snow

It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of James Josiah Snow on November 24th, 2022 at the age of 88 years while at his residence in Campbellton NL surrounded by his family and his “nurses”, his daughters Georgina and Tracy along with his Home Support Workers (HSW) Sherry Lynn and Judy who provided around the clock care and support in his final days. Josiah was born in Wings's Point, NL on October 13, 1934 to the late Ida (nee Fancey) and James Snow. Leaving to cherish wonderful memories are his children Boyce (Louise), Ivy Burt, Tony (Tonya), Lee (Judy), Jody (Maxine), Georgina Harris (Mark) and Tracy Renaud (Russell); 13 grandchildren: Maralee Fleming (Stephen), Dexter Snow (Stephanie), Laura Lee Kishka (Kris), Zach Burt (Tamara), Sonya Johnston (Curtis), Brandon Snow (Hannah), Brady Snow, Melissa Adamji (Zul), Alex Snow (Shelley), Kristy Hansen, Madison Snow, Jordan Manley ( Jeff) and Gregor Sample along with 10 great-grandchildren: Carter Fleming, Alexis Fleming, Peyton Snow, Nash Johnston, Lakely Johnston, Tori Snow, Elan Adamji, Kaleb Adamji, Rayaan Adamji, Olivia Snow and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Josiah was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of over 65 years, Eva, along with his brother Ward Snow, sister Janet Snow, brother Pleman Snow, brother Eldred Snow and sister-in-law Jessie Snow, brother Norman Snow, sister Violet House, sister Ruby LaFosse and brother-in-law George LaFosse, sister Sophie Snow, mother-in-law, Violet Wheeler and father-in-law, Harold Wheeler, brother-in-law, Douglas Wheeler, brother-in-law Otto Wheeler and son-in-law Junior Burt. Special thanks to his “workers” (home support workers) Judy Stevenson (4+ years) and Sherry Lynn Budgell (1.5 years) for their exceptional care and unwavering support over the last few years. Visitation will take place at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte, Newfoundland on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Sunday November 27, 2022 by invitation only. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery in Campbellton. Flowers are graciously accepted
