Obituary of Ted Curtis

There was much rejoicing in Heaven when the Lord called Eric Ted Curtis home on June 2, 2023 at 81 years of age. Ted was Pre-deceased by his parents Ernest & Maud Curtis, in-laws Bert & Lucy Wheeler, brother Otto Curtis and infant brother Neil Curtis. Left with a lifetime of stories are his wife of nearly 58 years Doris (Nee Wheeler), Daughters: Elaine Burton (Lewis), Michelle Curtis, Darlene Schwartz (Michael), and Son Colin (Tammy Jeans). Missing Poppa already are his precious grandchildren Alyssa, Ryan, Cassidy, Julia & Colbie. He also leaves behind his siblings Jim, Joan, John, Ernest Jr., Ewan, Rowena, Selma, Cedric, Frances, Sandra & Ken and their spouses; many nieces & nephews and his close friends & a large church family. Ted was known to many for his strength – both in body and mind. He worked hard to support his family first at Abitiby Price and then at Blue Buoy Foods; however, the thing that brought him the most pleasure was his boat and the ocean. A great weekend for him was sealing, turring or Cod fishing on Saturday and in church all day Sunday. He loved & worshipped his Lord from an early age and raised his family to follow in his steps. Visitation is to take place at the Maranatha Pentecostal church in Brown’s Arm on Saturday 7-9PM and Sunday 2-4 & 7- 9PM. Funeral will take place on Monday at 2PM. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Ted’s memory to the Gideons as he always loved and supported their work. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte.
