Juanita Burry passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at the Lewisporte Health Centre at the age of 80 years. Juanita was born on August 14, 1943, to the late Fred and Dinah Oake.
Leaving to mourn with so many wonderful memories are her husband Hardy; her children Georgia (Melvin) Freake, Edwinna (Brooklyn) Canning, Major Fred (Louise) Pond, Junior (Juanita) Burry, Tosha Burry and Shane (Janet) Burry; grandchildren, Shanna White, Charity Canning, Victoria Curlew, Nicholas Diamond, Robert Pond, Deidre Pinsent, Travis Burry, Kayleigh Burry and Ryan Burry; great grandchildren, Sophia, Ellie, Augustus, Koa, Finley, Bailey and Callie.
Juanita will be deeply missed by her siblings, George (Mae) Oake, Lorraine (Ivan) Potter, Dona (Harold) Dawe and Maurice (Kim) Nippard along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
In Addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband Augustus Pond and her sister Sarah Oake.
Visitation at Families Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive, Lewisporte on Friday, from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, at 2:00pm at the Salvation Army Citadel in Lewisporte with interment to follow in the Community Cemetery in Embree.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in her memory to the Lewisporte Salvation Army Corps Building Fund.
