What a kind and generous man and talented carpenter. He repaired my punt and reengineered a wooden settee and, with Winnie’s help, built a bridge on my house —and a birdhouse. All with a warm, shy smile and twinkle in his eyes. We shall miss Charles so much. Our deepest condolences to the family.

Condolences to Winnie and the family of this great man. Knew him all my life and worked with him on occasions. He was one of the best carpenters that I ever seen. When he wanted something to fit snuggly, I would ask him how much he wanted me to cut off the board. He would say, "Just a whisper" and I never forgot that. God Bless you Sir, and Rest in Peace.
