Obituary of Ruth Rideout

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Rideout announce her passing at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on April 19, 2024 at age 77 years. Ruth was born in Carters Cove to the late Gordon and Bessie Farr. She was predeceased by her husband Ford, brother Heber Farr, sister Verna Sheppard; sisters-in-law Stella Farr, Lucy (Jack) Whitehorn, Eileen (Patrick) Shanks and her grandson Colin LeDrew. Left to cherish her memory are her children Kelly (Greg) Ash and Craig Rideout. She will be lovingly remembered by her granddaughter Jamie LeDrew (Cody); step grandchild Porsche Ash; brother Winston; brother-in-law Clarence Sheppard; sister-in-law Mabel Farr; many nieces and nephews and a circle of other relatives and friends. Family would like to thank the staff at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander and Dr. Paulus who went above and beyond to make her comfortable in her final days and Major Darlene for her support and guidance as well as the staff at Kingsway Living, Lewisporte whom she developed a special bond with over the past four years. Visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm from Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from the Salvation Army Citadel in Lewisporte at 1pm. Interment will follow at the Community Cemetery in Embree. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in her memory to the Community Cemetery Fund.
