Obituary of Bessie Susan Downer

Mrs. Bessie Susan Downer-Passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland, on Wednesday May 10, 2017 at the age of 99 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Harvey Downer, in 1986 and her parents: Moses and Edith Collins; sisters: Agnes Cull and Jessie Ella Sheppard; and brother Sturdee Collins. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Donovan Downer (Cheryl) and daughter Pauline (Downer) LeBlanc (JP); six grandchildren: Susan (Greg) Osmond, Philip (Sasha) Downer, Monique (Glenn) Guilderson, Russell (Maria) Downer, Gisele (Dan) Turner, Adrienne (Eric) Thoms; fourteen great-grandchildren: Aaron, Caitlin, Henri, Charlie, Max, Leo, Kai, Anna, Campbell, Haydn, Timothy, Olivia, Jack, and Molly; and also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. Resting at Families Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive in Lewisporte, Family will be receiving visitors on Sunday from 2-4pm. Funeral service to take place on Monday May 15, 2017 from St. Paul's Anglican Church in Lewisporte at 11am, with interment to follow at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Paul's Anglican Church Building Fund, or your local SPCA
