Obituary of Doreen Janet Martin
Please share a memory of Doreen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts that the family announce the sudden passing of Doreen Martin of Lewisporte, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Doreen was born to the late Nellie & Wesley Budden of Campbellton, NL on August 10, 1952.
On July 18, 1970, she married David Martin and together they raised their two children, Deanne & Corey.
Doreen enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, such as crafting, painting, and playing piano. She spent many serene hours perfecting her skills. Doreen loved spending time in the kitchen, creating many delicious meals and baking – especially fruit cakes and goodies that were always shared with family, friends, and neighbours.
Doreen was a stay-at-home mom, but in later years she went to work with providing home care to those unable to care for themselves. She thoroughly enjoyed the friendships she developed with her clients. Friendships that continued long after she had to stop working because of her own health issues. Her clients loved her and appreciated her meticulous attention to detail.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her loving husband David; son Corey (Kim), daughter Deanne and granddaughter Nathasa; step-grandsons Nathan and Embery.
She will be missed by her brothers Eugene and Darrel; sisters Bernice Budden and Rosalind (Earl) Hindy; sisters-in-law, Pansy (Hubert) Porter, Elaine (Wade) Young and Cavelle Bailey; brothers-in-law Lloyd (Marlene) Martin and Bruce (Marilyn) Martin.
As well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and special friends Juanita Sheppard, Jessie Parsons and Jean Small.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister Diane Budden-Alward; brothers, Ronald and Fred Budden; parents-in-law Ivy and Wilfred Martin; brothers-in-law Clayton Twyne and Gordon Bailey.
Visitation will take place from Families Funeral Home on Thursday from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Families Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 1:00 pm with cremation to follow.
Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day unseen, unheard, but always near - still loved, still missed, and held so dear.
