Wilbert (Bert) Starkes, a resident of Lewisporte, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in St.John’s on Wednesday, Feb 26 after a brief illness at the age of 80 years.
Predeceased by his wife, Vera; Parents, William and Lillian; Mother in law, Gertrude Luff. Leaving to cherish his memory is daughter, Diane (Dennis) Goodyear, and grandson Brandon; Father in law Raymond Luff, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Resting at Families First Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive, Lewisporte on Friday 7-9pm and Saturday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at the Philadelphia Pentecostal Church in Lewisporte on Sunday, March 2 at 2:30pm. Interment to follow from the Pentecostal Cemetery in Lewisporte.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
